Grand Prix: Malmö
Last of the Grand Prix tournaments I attended in 2022 before the European Championship in Helsinki, the tournament in Malmö was an efficient trip for me. I played Dabblesnakes, my V5 Ministry multi-act build to a disappointing result of 0GW 0VP, after a combination of poor play and some insanely poor luck.
Persistent Echo
The Persistent Echo was a second-day, more casual tournament held after the Grand Prix tournament in Aix-en-Provence. After hesitating whether to even attend, I chose to participate. I kept being seated on tables next to other Banu Haqim decks, leading to some pretty spectacular combat and a lot of fun lose-lose situations, but also a disappointing result of 0VP.
Grand Prix: Aix-en-Provence
Finally, the Grand Prix is back after getting canceled two years in a row (fuck COVID). After missing the (announced late and too remote) tournament in Hyvinkää, Finland, I traveled to Aix-en-Provence. I played a sweet multiact Ministry deck to a disappointing result of 0VP after contesting Ministry in all three games and being on the wrong end of multiple table-splitting deals.
5th Road to Pulled Fang #11
Road to Pulled Fang is a Czech series of local tournaments that seed a special final game to be played during the Pulled Fang tournament. The fifth tournament of the series was held in my home city of Brno. I played the Infernal Princes of Anarchy deck blatantly copied from TWDA without great success, earning just a single victory point.
4th Road to Pulled Fang #11
Road to Pulled Fang is a Czech series of local tournaments that seed a special final game to be played during the Pulled Fang tournament. The fourth tournament of the series was held in Hradec Králové. I played the Enkidu Block deck but ended last, without even a half of a victory point.
Pulled Fang #9
Czech National Championship is traditionally called Pulled Fang and held by Jihlava players, conveniently located between Prague and Brno. I played an Enkidu Block deck in the 17-player tournament with a 0GW 3VP record. All three games were draws, and I was never ousted. I was very close to snatching a second game, but the time limit prevented me from doing so.
Summer 2020 Tournament in Brno
In the middle of summer, the Brno prince held a friendly little tournament, so it was almost mandatory to participate. I played an AUS OBF Black Hand deck in the 15-player tournament with a 0GW 3VP record, which somehow miraculously placed me in fifth place to the finals, which I unfortunately was not able to play.
